Bee Happy!

Normally I hate all things bee related. Well, I take that back- just bees. I love honey. And I can't help but love this cute little bumble bee.
She is not too happy with the bumble bee-ness, but it doesn't seem to slow her down when looking for squirrels. Jordan is not going to be happy when he finds out I dressed her up.... whoops.

Funny

After spending a while in that airport waiting on my flight - with Paisley - and then it getting cancelled, I decided I needed a little humor in my life. I found this:

Yay!

I basically feel like a proud mama... of my mama. She is doing so well with her new job! One of her really good friends from before I was born has been working for a some company that works with gas companies.. I don't really know... and was working 70-80 hours a week. Her boss told her to bring someone in to help her, and she thought of my mom right away. Shirley (my mom's friend) talked her boss into allowing my mom to do the job, having no prior experience in any other the computer programs she would be working on, and thankfully he accepted. My mom has already been such a huge help to Shirley and gets along great with the office. I am so proud!! Thanks Shirley!

Job

Today is a big day. My mom is starting a new job, her first non-mommy job in 30 years. Many of you know how busy/rewarding being a full-time mom is, but it is time for her to move on. I'm sure in a few years she will become a full-time NayNay, but until kiddos come along, this will have to do. As you can imagine, she is very nervous and uncertain of going back into the workplace, so today I am asking for your prayers. Please pray that she will feel comfortable and competent as she learns new skills!

Thanks!

Put Your Hands Up in the Air!

Last month Jordan got some free tickets to the minor league hockey team in town- the Rampage. None of our friends could go, so we ended up going by ourselves, which turned out to be a blast!

There weren't very many fans at the game, but those present were quite energized...

We also had the distinct privelege of watching this man head bang, disco, and grind to whatever song came on!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I don't know if you all are aware, but Jordan and I both have a love for anything Irish. I remember before we were dating we would talk on instant messenger and his icon was a clover- we were destined to be together. In the spirit if St. Patty's Day, I looked up several Irish/English family crests for family and friends. First, I'd like to tell you that I am Irish! Wahoo!! (Ok, so there's a possibility that I'm Scottish or English, but who cares!) "Johnson" comes from the Irish surname "MacSheain." Sounds cool right?! I like it! I also looked up "Elam" b/c none of my new family seems to know where they came from- and no, it's not the Middle East. (Although I'm sure we did descend from the Elamites..) The Elams are from England and moved to Virginia. In the mid 1850's, an Elam moved to Texas, and thus we have my hubby!

Happy Birthday, Jill!

Today is my sister-in-law, Jill's, birthday! So far, her week hasn't been all that great- first, on Sunday, poor Scarlett got the stomach bug. Then, on Monday, poor Clark got a swollen testicle and had to go to the hospital for an ultrasound. So hopefully today will be a stress-free day!!

I couldn't find another picture of just the 2 of us besides the one on Jaime's wall and I wanted to post a different one. I think it's about time we took another picture together, Jill!

The many faces (or hairs...) of Maegan

This is a group exercise and EVERYONE must participate. I am having a hair crisis. I have no idea what to do with my hair. I've got a few options:

1. Cut it shorter
2. Keep it at this length and flip it out.
3. Keep it at this length and curl it under.
4. Grow it out a little longer (to my shoulders) and flip it out.
5. Grow it out a little longer and curl it under.
6. Grow it out long like it was at the wedding.
7. Dye it brown.

I have provided pictures of each stage to help you all out in case you haven't seen my hair before. You must, and I mean must!, respond in the comment box. I want to know what way you like my hair!! Even people who are just passing through are more than welcome to comment.

I would love to hear from as many people as possible. This will also give me a chance to see who all visits our blog!!

Still Laughing

This happened a few days ago and I didn't get a chance to blog about it., but I still laugh out loud when I think about it, so I think it's worth sharing.

I went to class (for once) and my professor came in with a very odd appearance: a dress shirt and wind pants. He proceeded to apologize and lift his pant leg up to show us a HUGE scar running down the middle of his right knee. Apparently his quadricep muscle had completely come unattached and had to be reattached. OUCH!! At that point, I think we were all very impressed that he was even lecturing to us.

About fifteen minutes into the lecture, he suddenly stopped mid-sentence and said, "Excuse me! My pants just fell down!" He bent down all the way to the floor to pick up his pants... that had fallen.... in front of 97 dental students... to the floor. This is a true story, people- no lies!

Thankfully, he is a very outgoing, jolly man, who laughed just as hard as us. It didn't even bother him that 10 minutes after the "incident," one of my friends was still laughing so hard he had to get up and walk out of class. If we thought he won the teacher of the year award before- he definitely has it now! He continued to lecture for the rest of the hour, even as random giggles broke out through the class. At the end he said, "I would lecture for another hour, but I don't think I could keep my pants up!"

Like any good class would, we bought him a pair of suspenders and a sympathy card for his tragic loss- his pants.

I've Got Nothin'

Absolutely nothing exciting has happened in the last 3 weeks of my life. I've taken 100,000 tests and gained weight, but other than that- nada. Since I'm so boring, I decided maybe Paisley would be a cuter substitute for my blog.

She might not be the brightest crayon in the box, but she's the cutest!

She had to make her bed just right... and then she was happy.
