My Week...

This week has been interesting to say the least. I am apparently domestically challenged. It started off Saturday night with a fun girls night. However, Sunday I woke up sick and spent all day in bed. These are my new favorite girls in the whole world: Lauren, Mary, and Katelyn. Lauren you all should know by now: my partner in crime in dental school among many other things. Mary is the wife of one of our classmates, and Katelyn went to high school with Lauren's husband, and her husband is in law school. I know, confusing- sorry.

Monday night I finally got the laundry out of the dryer that I had done on Sunday and started putting things away. Jordan and I decided one of his new sweaters was way too big and needed to be shrunk, but I think I messed up:
Tuesday night I decided to make homemade biscuits, so I went out into the freezing cold to get the ingredients from the store. I don't have a cookie cutter, so I had to make due:
I was really excited that I had successfully made biscuits, until I took them out of the oven and they were more like crackers. And then we took a bite and they were more like disgusting, something's-not-right-here crackers. Things I did wrong: 1) used all-purpose flour instead of self-rising, 2)used the flour Linda gave me when we moved in last year. Apparently flour goes bad....
Wednesday was almost a normal day... except we had a fire drill in the middle of one of my classes. Yes, a fire drill. We are at professional school, so I'm pretty sure we could make it out of the building, but who knows? We sat there for about 5 mins trying to decide if we really wanted to go outside. Thankfully it was just a drill, and everyone got out in 7 1/2 minutes. Lauren pointed this out in her blog, and it is very true: we are in a medical and dental building. If there is a fire, we would all die. The hallways are lined with refrigerators filled with gas and chemicals, nitrous oxide is being pumped into dental patients, and there are all sorts of natural gas lines running through our pre-clinical labs. I don't think 7 1/2 minutes would cut it.
Thursday? Could you be a good day?? No!! Of course not! Not after a Physiolgy exam that I couldn't even understand the questions, much less answer correctly. Maybe that's why my pre-challenge grade is a 65. Yes, my lowest test grade of date. The sad thing is, at this point in my dental school career... I don't even care. It was the most ridiculous test I've ever taken, and I just don't care.
Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention my weight. Oh yeah, that. 186.6- - crap. I have a sneaking suspision of how that happened. Maybe it's because of nights like tonight, where Jordan and I decide we want to eat out (which we are). Tomorrow baseball starts and I will never see him again, so we're going on our last date. Hibachi!!!

For Sale

Here are a couple of pieces of furniture I am trying to sell. If you are interested, please let me know. Thanks!

This from my parents- they bought it thinking it would fit in their bedroom and it didn't... it is brand new. It would be really easy to re-upholster if the fabric doesn't match.

This is a really nice coffee table I bought while in college. It is really big and doesn't fit in our apartment. I refinished it and painted the bottom. The measurements are 48wx30dx21h

Maybe This Will Help...?

After reading a Weight Watchers magazine, I got a strong craving for a buffalo burger because there was an article that mentioned them. Did you know they are more lean than chicken?? Well, I decided that after a long day of studying and a long day of baseball work, Jordan and I could reward ourselves with a Fudruckers buffalo burger. The plan was to get one each and share one fry. Well, it turned out it wasn't much more to get a combo meal, so we both got fries. And then they had Wild Cherry Pepsi, one of Jordan and I's favorite things in the whole wide world. Needless to say, my lean buffalo burger was useless in my attempt to lose weight. So, I was sitting here thinking about something to blog about and I decided I would try to blog about my weightloss experiences. Maybe if I put it out there for the world to see, it will encourage me to do better, knowing my closest friends and family know the truth about my fat-kid-ness. So here are my statistics- - don't be alarmed. Or maybe you should be....

Height 5'5"

Weight 187lbs

Waist 39"

Size 14

My Goal is to lose 10% of my body fat, putting me around 170lbs. My first and foremost goal, however, is to get below 180, which I haven't beein in over 3 years. I would like to shed 4" off my waist, putting me at 35", which is "normal."

So, I'm sorry if you get really bored with me writing about my progression, but I think it might help me... you guys are going to be like my mini WW meetings. I probably should have started off my blog with, "Hi. I'm Maegan and I'm a food-aholic." Jordan and I weigh-in every Wednesday morning, so I will give you all an update, no matter if I went up or down. That way I have some sense of accountability, even if it is to my blog. Please bear with me!

Cute

Once again I have nothing to blog about because school consumes my life. I thought I'd share this pic that my professor included in one of her lectures because I love puppies.

Boring

I'm sorry I haven't blogged all week, but this is how my first week back to school went:
Sit in lecture for 4 hours straight.
Eat lunch (in the same seat in the lecture hall) for 1 hour.
Sit in lecture for 2-3 more hours.
Come home and whine about bad my day was.
That's it. For 5 straight days. Needless to say, it was a long, boring week and my bum hurts. We were supposed to get cushions for our seats over the break, but apparently they lied to us. Again. Monday morning I actually was pretty excited about the cushions, only to be crushed by the realization that once again UTHSCA did not come through. I also learned that I gained back all the weight I had lost before we left for Colorado... so Christmas was very mean to me this year. Now getting back in the groove is even worse. Why I can't I just eat what I want and be super skinny??
However, the week before I did make a few changes to our apartment:
This is the coffee table Traci gave us and I finally got around to painting it. I love it!

I finally got something for our chine to go on after a year. Please excuse our messy table.

Anniversary & Cowboys

Jordan and I just celebrated our 1 Year Anniversary!! Yay! It was the most amazing night, ever! First we went to Boi Na Braza, a Brazilian steakhouse near my parents' house. The steak was incredible (if you don't know, I love meat). After that, we went to the Gaylord Texan to spend the night- - wow- - it was awesome!! It was still decorated for Christmas and absolutely beautiful!

The coolest live gingerbread house in the whole wide world. The detail was phenomenal!
The view from our balcony. At night, it was gorgeous!!

Now maybe the best part of our anniversary... depending on who you are. The morning after we stayed at the hotel, we went to IHOP in Southlake. A few minutes into our meal I saw someone special:

Who is that you ask? Bigfoot? No.. no no. That would be Demarcus Ware, #94 on the Dallas Cowboys defense. We have a history- Demarcus and me- yep, that's right. He was a patient at a dentist office I worked at last year, so I knew who he was. I got to hear him talk quite a bit to our receptionist's son who had all sorts of questions for him. Demarcus was SO nice! Jordan pretty much pee'ed in his pants when he realized it really was Demarcus sitting right next to us.. oh yeah, I forgot that. He sat directly on the other side of the glass partition, see:

This is a picture of Demarcus for real:

Basically we had the best anniversary in the whole wide world!!!
