Funny Twilight Tid-Bits

This video is hilarious!! If you haven't seen Twilight, I don't think you'll understand, but if you have, it's great!

I also found these funny cakes on a website. (newmoonmovie.com) They go from good to bad, but always entertaining!

It's Official

After a month of waiting, my surgical loupes finally came in- a HUGE defining moment in a dental student's life. I am now officially dentist-esque. If you have always wondered why dentists wear such silly and ugly looking glasses, it is because they are awesome- duh! No, but really, the magnification in these babies is 3.5x, which may not seem like a lot, but it is. It helps tremendously in working on the tiny crevices in teeth. I know you're jealous and you're thinking you might want some, but they are the reason I have to take out loans. Too much money!! Now all I need is someone to practice on...
This is also super exciting- to see my name with DDS behind it gives me chills!

They Grow Up So Fast!

Today is my little girl's birthday. 2 years... 2 years!! It just seems like yesterday that I was picking her up from the airport and she was only a few weeks old and weighing 1.5 lbs. I know I've already posted most of these pics, but bear with me. At this point in my life, she really is my child. She sleeps in the space between my arm and body every night and wakes me up a million times. She wakes Jordan up every morning by giving him kisses. I don't care what non-dog lovers say, they can show emotion and can love you back. When I get home from being anywhere, even if I just take the trash out, she gets so excited she hyperventilates and makes a sound that is similar to Daffy Duck. Her favorite toy right now is the pen light, which she will run after- back and forth in our little apartment- back and forth. My favorite thing she does is when she lays on her back and plays with her toys (like the video from last week). It's so cute! I love that she knows who NaeNae and Remi are, and freaks out if you say their names. Even though it is annoying, I love that she is smart enough to know what she wants, even when it's 3:00 am and she wants me to lay on the couch with the soft blanket and won't stop whining until I do it. Basically, I just love her!

Happy Birthday Paisley!

An Apple a Day...

Does not keep the dentist away. I don't know about you guys, but I always thought if you couldn't brush your teeth, eating an apple or carrots or something else crunchy would be just as good to clean your teeth, maybe just without freshening your breath. However, this is not the case. As I was sitting in my test on Friday and got to this question (and answered correctly), I decided it would be a good blog topic. Nothing can substitute for brushing! And make sure to floss as well. Annnddd- did you know you're supposed to floss BEFORE you brush? It's true!

Also, on my little side bar of useless knowledge, this is what it just said... "Before all-porcelain teeth were perfected in the mid nineteenth century, dentures were commonly made with teeth pulled from the mouths of dead soldiers following a battle. Teeth extracted from the cadavers of U.S. Civil War soldiers were shipped to English dentists by the barrel." ... sick.

For more dental tips with Dr. Maegan, stay tuned every week! Thanks and have a good night!

Thanks NaeNae!

My mom and dad sent us an Easter "basket" (cardboard box) filled with candy, money, and a new toy for Paisley.
She loves her new 'love bug'!!

Note To Self...

...40 mins is too long to lay out. At least I was relaxed after my horrible Physiology test.

Poor Barbie

My aunt sent this to me and I thought it was hilarious. This is how Barbie's life ended up:

Random

I took a test today, for which I studied very little. It was for a class that is ridiculously easy and reduntant. It is really hard to study with notes like, "Human motivation is complex." Really? I didn't know that... and I definitely didn't know that we should be nice to our patients. There were a few suprises, however, like the acronym ARMPITS (yes, you read that correctly). Did you know that if goals are to be achieved they must be:

Appropriate
Realistic
Measurable
Positive
Important
Time-Related
Specific & Supported

We also learned in this class that "action is an act." Wow- revolutionary! This is what I'm paying $40,000 a year for!

I forgot to post this picture the other day when I wrote about my Spring Break. Paisley loves going to NaeNae and Grandpa's house because they have tons of squirrels and birds to bark at. One day she would not stop barking, so I ran outside to make her stop, and this is what I found:

Spring Break

These are a few pics from my Spring Break. My mom, dad, and brother and I went to the Ft. Worth zoo- my favorite place. I'm glad I was able to get the tiger on video- it was so cute! The little girl had her stuffed tiger and the real tiger LOVED it! He kept following it and pawing at it. It was the highlight of my Spring Break!

These are pics from the Dallas Arboretum, the 2nd best place in DFW. We go almost every year around this year b/c it is gorgeous. The pansies are amazing!
